Studio Dancer of the Year 2008
Malie Leinani Change of Lompoc, CA, has been selected to represent American Dance of SLO as Studio Dancer of the Year at the Tremaine Dance Convention and Competition in Las Vegas, July 2008.
Malie, an 18 year old graduating senior, has been an American Dancer for the past two years. Malie was selected for this honor because she has shown the most progress and potential in her dancing abilities. Malie was voted by her fellow American Dancers as the most dedicated dancer in the company.
Malie plans to move to Hollywood in late summer to continue her dance education at the Edge Performing Arts Center.
Her interests include jazz, modern, and ballet dance, voice, and acting; she hopes to become a professional dancer one day.
Her directory, Leslie Baumberger, says of Malie, “She has been a joy and pleasure to have in company. Her psoitive attitude and dedication to her art not only inspires me but all of her fellow dancers. We will miss her and wish her the best of luck in the future.”
